How To Blog
How To Blog
Bloggers blog for many different reasons these days, heck, there are even professional bloggers who will manage a blog for your business to help you increase revenue – it’s called online marketing you know, anyway, how you should actually go about blogging largely depends on what you want your blog for, and what you want it to achieve.
How To Blog
First things first, that’s good then, if it was second things first then the first things would be second wouldn’t they? Anyway, there are two basic methods of blogging:
- Free Blogging – there are a number of terrific free blogging sites available (WordPress.com is a good one) which are great for the amateur blogger who just wants to have a little go without spending any dosh. Hey, you can always upgrade later if you find that you’ve a natural talent for it.
- Owning a Blogging Domain – yet still using some free blogging software. Well, we don’t all have university degrees in computer technology you know, so let’s use the free blogging software which has been developed by those who do! Makes perfect sense to me. If you want to become a serious blogger then this is definitely the option you should choose.
What To Blog About
The next thing is the reason why you want to blog in the first place. Do you want a personal life style blog, do you want to promote your business, join with friends around the world who have similar interests to your own . . . These are the most common strategies:
- low key blog – aimed at a small group of people – family and friends, sports club, members of a church etc. These can be a great way of providing valuable information for the relevant few.
- focus blog – built with a specific interest or hobby in mind – maybe Justin Bieber fanatics or fans of a particular sports team.
- business blog – is built to promote a business, service or product.
- expert blog – (although the word “expert” might be used in the loosest sense of the word) and are used to build a good internet presence for the writer of the blog as well as promoting some of their books, products or services.
- income blog – is built solely to make some dosh.
- portfolio blog – for writers, artists etc. What a great way of producing an online portfolio.
- entertainment blog – fill your blog with gossip, news and reviews of all the latest celebrity shenanigans and get a little advertising revenue while you’re at it . . . if you get sufficient following that is.
What Do You Need to Blog
The only thing that you’ll need in order to start blogging is a computer (a laptop will do the job just fine), access to the Internet, lots of time and a little imagination . . . if you have little time and lots of imagination that will also do just fine (as long as you’ve got nimble fingers). Any of the blogging software sites will gladly inform you of all the idiot proof instructions you could ever need, and there are usually forums for those idiots who can’t follow said idiot proof instructions, so other smarter idiots can explain them in even more detail. Blogging really is so easy these days, have you started yet, and if you follow the route shown in the photo at the top of the page to become a famous blogger, you’ll soon see that it’s as simple as falling off a (b)log. What’s stopping you?
